Black Iron Scissors
Sometimes referred to as "traditional" or "Chinese" scissors, these are available in four sizes and as snips, too.

Hand-forged iron with a fine coating of oil to prevent rust during storage and shipping. Directions for general care and for adjusting the rivet joint (tighter/looser) are included with scissors.

These are wonderful for early period or "primitive" re-enactment.

Please see the note below regarding the large finger-loops...
A - Snips - great in the sewing basket or next to the sewing machine $2
B - Small - good in sewing basket $4
C - Medium - good all-purpose size $6
D - Large - dress-maker size comes in blade lengths of approximately
3 11/16" (D1)
and 4"(D2).
Handle length varies by ¼".

I've used a pair of D2 in the shop at the cutting table since 2002 and have only recently had to dress the blades. They're great!
D1 - $7.75

D2 - $8.25
If you purchase a full set of Black Iron scissors (1 each - Small, Medium, & Large), you get a free pair of snips. (Please specify D1 or D2.) $18
'Gold'-Handled Scissors
Drop-forged steel blades and body with tarnish-resistant-brass decorative 'handle sheaths' portraying a dragon and a long-tailed pheasant.

Some folks think the large finger-loops are too big and won't be comfortable but I have had no problem with them. Other customers have reported no problems and, indeed, a surprising comfortableness. No sore spots!
B - Small - good in sewing basket $8
C - Medium - good all-purpose size $12
Later Period Embroidery Scissors This style can be found as early as the 1500s, reached the peak of its popularity in the Victorian age and is still in popular use today. Please specify color - red, green, blue, or purple. Each has a matching leather bladesheath and comes with a manufacturer warranty. $8
Gingher Appliqué Scissors
"a tradition of quality"
With off-set handles and duckbill blades, these compact 6" scissors will get in just about anywhere on a worked piece and safely slide along your cutting line. Double-plated chrome over nickel.

Large picture shows side-view.

Manufacturer guarantee.
$25
Pendant Thread Cutter
by Clover
Patterned after an antique thread-cutter, this nifty gizmo can hang from a cord or tuck into the top of a spool of thread.

To my knowledge, this is the only thread cutter actually allowed on airlines these days. (The needles may be another problem.... I've heard stories of such silliness....)
$6.50
Fiskar Scissors Sharpener A handy little gadget from Fiskar.... a discreet 2" in length, you can keep it in any sewing kit. $2.75
Olfa Stencil Cutter SC-1 This little gadget has two blades mounted side-by-side in the handle. Three mounting heads are included giving spacings of 1mm, 1.5mm, and 2mm. Blades mount like an Exacto.

Included are 10 extra blades for a total of 12 blades (6 changes).
