| First make a bar tack the width of the hook plus about 4 threads. If you 'bury' the thread when you start, coming up in place with no 'tail' showing, you can have a very clean loop. |

| Starting at one end of the tack, use buttonhole stitch (aka blanket stitch) to cover the surface threads of the tack. | ![]() |
| Pack those buttonhole stitches on there well and make sure you cover the tack entirely and bury the thread to finish. This leaves a thread-covered loop that's fairly wear-resistant. Pretty easy, eh? |
