| Pre-paint but mostly cleaned ..... |

Looking towards the back as you enter |

The display window as seen from just inside the doorway (Don't you just love those bars?) |

Looking towards the front (And another view of those bars...) |
Painting has begun .... |

Looking towards the back as you enter |

The display window as seen from just inside the doorway Those bars are outa here! |

Looking towards the front (So glad to have those bars gone!) (btw - that's Vincent, my husband) |
The bump-out to enlarge the bathroom... |

Oh, this is bad.... Poor knees! |

The Odd Fellows' Lodge (my landlords) brought in a contractor to enlarge the bathroom. |

Much better! Hey, you contemplate a 63+ hour workweek with the former ... um ... situation. |

Well, that doesn't take up much floor space. |

Nope, not much at all....
|

Well, at least it's roomier in there... We'll spiff it up later.... |
Meanwhile, outside... |

Blasted traffic.... (The door is open but look close and you'll see a 'solid' blue door.) |

Sometimes closer is better... and now the plywood is off the door glass. |

Eh? Hey, this used to be a music shop in the '70s! Just before me, it was a gun shop.... |
And on Wednesday, 11 Jan 2006 . . . It's a sign! |

|

|

|
And work continued.... |
Looking towards the back as you enter, you can see the frame-outs for the dividing walls.

The retail area is shaping up...

 A 'clerk's eye view'...

He wrote ... (This must have been about the 3rd week of January.) |
After he left for the evening, I wrote ...

The shop opened for business on Friday 3 Feb '06 looking kind of this....
|
 As you entered...
|
This is an area that underwent some major changes...It's the left/east/wool/notions wall.
|
Same wall closer to the front counter...
|
At the end of the notions wall. Never did get a picture of the jewelry case when it sat here...
|
We actually worked on the notions hutch _during_ shop hours. (No wonder it seemed to take forever...)
|
New hutch in place and getting loaded... Going to look better than that mess above, won't it? |
Big leap forward in time.... In Apr '06, it looked like this.... The shop has been open for business since 3 Feb '06 which is why it's taking awhile to get these up.
|
As you enter... (take a look at the back counter area) |
looking to the right at the roll rack...
|
 and further to the right....
|
display case at end of roll rack.
|
other side of roll rack. You can just see the top right corner of the 'blanc mange' on the floor at the left. |
the DMC rack on outside of the bathroom wall A slightly better shot of the 'blanc mange' (aka gambeson batting...)
|
 the new notions hutch
|
a closer look at the back counter The shelf & the button & veil cabinet are in... yay!
|
kitchenette v2.0 Display veils & fichus on right next to bathroom door... |
Wonder what's going on in the classroom?
|
Well, it's _usable_. Just have to move a few things...the tables are built and ready on the right.
|
My view of the world seven five days a week. (Changed as of the beginning of Nov 2006.) :-)
