Double-strand Square-wire Skirt Hooping Available either cloth- or plastic-covered, this ½" wide hooping is just the thing for underskirts. Cut it to length allowing an inch or so overlap, insert into the hoop channel, then overlap and tack-stitch to itself for fluid solidity and the proper movement with no "break" or hingeing in the line or flow.
Cut with wire-cutters.
12 yard roll/$20.50
Lacing Cord (also called Shoelace Cord) This ¼" flat-woven tubular lace is the standard used by most corsetiéres.

Brass Aiglettes
aka
Metal Tags
Hand-made for the lacing cord above.
Cord is laced through the holes and the tag or aiglette is folded around the lace and finished by burnishing with a wood stick (a wooden spoon handle works great!).
25 cents/ea.
Plastic Aiglettes - aka - Shrink Tube - aka - Shoelace Tips These little beauties get cut to length (usually 1"), slipped onto the cord or lace, and then heat-shrunk into place. Semi-clear/white-ish plastic sometimes takes on smoky color from flame used to shrink it. To avoid "smokiness" of color, shrink over electric heat source (hair blow-dryer, burner on electric stove, etc.).
Please choose a tube size that is only slightly larger than your cord as this material reliably shrinks no more than 1/3 of its starting diameter.
Sold by 6 inch piece.

1/8" dia. - 30 cents

3/16" dia. - 35 cents
(fits lacing cord above)

1/4" dia. - 40 cents
